This guide will show you how to assign a static internal IP address to a specific device on your home network using a Nova 4G or 5G router. This is useful if you want to ensure a device, such as a printer or gaming console, always keeps the same internal IP address.
Why is this important?
Assigning a static IP makes port forwarding easier, increases network stability, and ensures certain services are always accessible at the same address.
Materials needed
- Nova 4G/5G/5G+ router
- Computer or mobile device connected to the router
- Web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge)
Step 1: Log into the router’s web interface
- Connect to the router via WiFi or ethernet.
- Open your browser and enter the router’s IP address, typically
192.168.1.1
or192.168.8.1
. - Log in with your username and password (see the router sticker or Nova’s instructions).
Step 2: Find your device’s MAC address
- Open the list of connected devices (may be called "Device List", "LAN Devices", etc.).
- Find the device to assign the IP to and note its MAC address.
Step 3: Assign a static IP to the MAC address
- Go to the section called LAN, DHCP, or Static DHCP.
- Add a “Static IP Assignment” or “DHCP Reservation”.
- Enter the device’s MAC address and select/enter the IP address you wish to assign (make sure it’s not in use by another device).
- Save your changes.
Step 4: Restart the device or router if needed
- Some devices need to disconnect and reconnect to receive the new IP address.
- In some cases, the router may need to be restarted.
Summary
- Log into your router.
- Find your device’s MAC address.
- Assign a static IP in the settings.
- Save and restart if needed.
Next steps

Additional information
- If you can’t find the settings or the device doesn’t appear, check the user manual for your router.
